That's right... popular request SONAX has officially made their mark on the Slim's shelves!
SONAX started out in 1950 Germany, shortly after World War II when founder Franz Hoffmann began manufacturing car care products. The German economic miracle post-war proved to be the breakthrough for the brand, being able to supply the first fully automatic car washes with high-quality products from the mid-1960s onwards.
This change in the economy meant more people could afford private cars, and with more proud car owners there came the ritual washing of their own cars manually and as a result the demand for car care products rose significantly – resulting in the success of the brand.
To date, SONAX is still a family-owned business, aligning with our core values here at Slim's, and we are pleased to welcome them to our shelves!
The team have been working hard testing products out and getting an idea of why it's been a highly requested brand for us to stock. So... where to begin? Slim's Brand Manager and Master Detailer Stefan has tried the range out for himself – here is what he had to say:
Beast Wheel Cleaner
Colour changing formulation in a 1 litre spray bottle, safe for all steel and light-alloy rims. Also suitable for tyres with tyre pressure monitoring systems.
"Really good wheel cleaner, clings to the brake dust well to make removal almost effortless with the pressure washer. Safe for matt and chrome wheels!"
XTREME Brilliant Shine Quick Detailer
Quick paint care anytime, in the form of a 750ml spray bottle, working to clean and refresh lightly soiled surfaces in one step.
"Really impressive hydrophobicity from a product that is really simple to use. Really cost effective quick detailer that just simply works to protect your paint surfaces."
XTREME Foam Invasion Shampoo
Mild pH-neutral, high-foaming shampoo concentrate for a long-lasting and dirt-dissolving snow foam application on all surfaces, including those that have been waxed and sealed.
"Good cost-effective shampoo – at 30ml, it equates to around 36p per car clean if you use the full litre bottle. Really nice smell too."
XTREME Ceramic Spray Coating
For protecting treated surfaces against contaminants from dirt and insects to road salt, refreshing existing ceramic sealings, as well as producing a velvety-soft feel and giving the paintwork a durable mirror-like shine.
"Really good ceramic spray coating that can be used on a damp or dry car, great gloss level and a silky smooth finish. Protects against dirt, insects and road salt making cleaning much easier."
Black Beast Effect Tyre Gloss
This treatment means no more cracking, premature ageing and fading of tyres – the deep black glossy finish cares for and protects the rubber with regular use. Suitable for all tyre types, complete with a fruity berry scent.
"Does exactly what it says on the tin. Super glossy wet look that protects as well – if you want to dull the sheen down a little just go over lightly with a microfibre cloth. Product dries in just 5 minutes and lasts a decent amount of time on the tyre."
XTREME Protective Wheel Rim Sealant
Produces a hydrophobic barrier against stubborn soiling such as brake dust and road salt, making it easier to clean and water-repellent for up to 6 weeks. Suitable for all types of rims.
"Excellent water and dirt repellent, keeping the wheel rims cleaner for longer and makes cleaning a doddle. Leaves a really nice shine and is a very quick way to protect the wheels."
